Reserve team manager Robbie Matthews admits consistency is the key to improving on early season results, “We have had a decent start to the season but we need to turn the draws into wins and tighten up at the back and we can get the results I am certain we are capable of”. With 1 win and 2 draws from 6 games, the performances have been steady but with a couple of defeats, Robbie accepts there is work to be done, “I have been pleased with the lads efforts and have been delighted to maintain a strong squad and with a few quality players returning in the coming weeks, I am confident results will match some very good early season performances.”
Keep an eye for the reserves fixtures coming up with a few tough away games coming up starting at Maghull on Saturday, “Having started with a run of home games, the challenge is to now take the positive performances on the road with us, Maghull is always a difficult place to go and they have had a good start but we go there with confidence high and no new injury worries”.
